Bao derives from the word baobab. Baobabs are huge trees (the largest has a circumference of over 25m) that grows in Africa and in Australia. The baobab's many nutritional, medicinal and other practical uses make it one of the most beneficial trees in village life. Baobabs are endowed with extensive powers governing the well-being of the communities they serve. Baobabs live very long. Some are more than 800 years old.
